Grand Theft Auto Blamed for Murder - 04.03.2006

The popular video game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas has been blamed for yet another crime. This $600M lawsuit, which the Alabama Supreme court recently ruled to keep alive, blames Rockstar Games for the murder of three people. Sony UMD Movies Failing - 4.2.2006

The Universal Media Disc (UMD) format by Sony, which is the format used to watch a movie on the Sony PSP, has not been doing very well in sales. Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Paramount Pictures have announced they have halted production of movies in the UMD format. One Universal executive stated that "It's awful. Sales are near zilch. It's another Sony bomb -- like Blu-ray." Sony is looking into ways to connect the PSP to the TV in hopes of helping sales.

Games Added to Xbox Backwards Compatibility List - 03.30.2006

Microsoft recently added three games to its Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility List, a list of Xbox games that can successfully be altered to play on the Xbox 360. Black, Star Wars Battlefront II, and Winning Eleven 9 will all work on the Xbox 360 after downloading their respective patches online. Microsoft hopes that one day all original Xbox titles will be playable on the Xbox 360.

Blizzard Postpones Starcraft: Ghost - 3.30.2006

March 24th, Blizzard announced they are postponing the production of StarCraft: Ghost with an indefinite date on which they will resume. The company says that they want to make sure the game meets expectations and they are waiting to see the direction the new consoles are going in before determining the best course of action to take in development of StarCraft: Ghost. Blizzard wants to maintain their reputation of quality games that both the customers and the company will be proud of.

Wal-Mart Xbox 360 Supplies Replenished - 03.28.2006

If you are looking for an Xbox 360, Wal-Mart may be a good place to begin your search. According to the Folks at Xbox Today, Wal-Mart stores across the country recieved an influx of Xbox consoles recently. There are two bundles available: an Xbox Live! Bundle and a a more expensive Xbox Pro Bundle. Wal-Mart has more information about each bundle on their corporate website.

Nvidia Has New Design Contract - 3.27.2006

Apparently Nvidia said on Thursday it has a new design contract with Sony Corp. that will pay more than they got for making the graphics processor for the upcoming PlayStation 3. Nvidia got paid $30 million for the PS3 graphics chip, they expected work with Sony to end but they plan to continue to work with them into 2007.

Xbox 360 Dashboard Bound to Improve - 3.27.2006

It appears Microsoft is taking user feedback and is preparing to update the Xbox 360 Dashboard. This news comes after Sony Entertainment announced that their PS3 interface would have more features than the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Lets just hope the Xbox 360 won't require daily patches in the the future, like another not-to-be-named (read: Windows) product originating from Microsoft headquarters.

Nintendo Revolution Backwards Compatibility - 3.21.2006

Nintendo's Satoru Iwata announced during his keynote adrress at the 2006 Game Developer Conference in San Jose, that the Nintendo Revolution's back catalog of downloadable games will now include titles from the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16. Specifics have not been released yet but there will be fees associated with this service. Mr. Iwata stated that over 1,000 games will be available from these consoles.

Xbox 360 Plans Announced - 3.25.2006

According to Shacknews, Microsoft is capitalizing on their new opportunity to sieze the market. Apparently, two to three times as many Xbox 360 units will be available to stores in the near future due to a new manufacturing partner. Also on the lineup are 16 new game announcements, including Battleground 2, Final Fantasy XI, and a new X-men title.

Xbox 360 Australian Release - 3.21.2006

At midnight tonight, the Xbox 360 will be released at 300 stores in Australia. The corporate giant plans on providing giant outdoor screens, free food and drinks, and street performers for the people waiting in line. Microsoft expects to sell 270,000 consoles this year and make up to $40 million within the first week. Since Sony recently announced they were putting the PS3 back until November, Microsoft has the next eight months to release games and dominate the market.

New Dungeon Siege Titles Announced - 3.19.2006

Take-Two Interactive announced Wednesday that they have acquired the publishing rights to the popular Dungeon Siege series. The first two titles they have announced are an expansion pack to Dungeon Siege II and a game for the PSP. The expansion, Dungeon Siege II: Broken World will feature a new campaign mode, a new playable race, more items, and a new multi-class character development system. The PSP release, Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, is going to be a completely new game and you can expect to see it sometime this fall.

PSP Price Reduced - 3.16.2006

This seemed to slip under the radar since all the buzz has been about the PS3 lately, but Sony has officially lowered the price of the PSP by $50 down to $199. The price reduction was accompanied by a plethora of new feature and product announcements. Among the new additions are VoIP (Voice over IP) and a GPS reciever. Another notable announcement was that the PSP will soon be able to play macromedia flash games. This should be a welcome addition for those of you who frequently install Homebrew games on your PSP.

Bioware Announces MMORPG - 3.15.2006

Another rumor has been confirmed. Bioware announced Monday the opening of a new development studio in Austin, Texas According to the press release, they have already begun work on Bioware's first Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. While the details of this game are unavailable at this time, we at AZ Game Cheats expect it to be pretty good based on some of their previous work.

PS3 Officially Delayed - 3.14.2006

Rumors in the industry have finally been substantiated. Sony has officially provided a new release date for the Playstation 3 just in time for the 2006 holiday season. Many experts that 2007 would be a more realistic estimate.
